Minimum data
For a useful Four Pillars chart you need:
1. Birth date
2. Birth time (as accurate as possible)
3. Timezone of the birth place
Why timezone matters for overseas births
BaZi is sensitive to hour boundaries. If you were born in New York, London, or Sydney, use that local timezone - not a random default.
Unknown birth time
If the hour is unknown, many people start with 12:00 local and treat the hour pillar as tentative. The day pillar and Day Master can still be useful.
